Invite an Author

Every month, we highlight an author in an initiative called "BCCLS Invite an Author". Many of these authors are happy to visit BCCLS libraries to chat with your book clubs or present programs either in person or via Skype. You can email them directly for more information or to schedule a library visit.

Letter of Introduction:

Dear Colleagues:

We have a duo of authors for November 2013.

They’ve written a book on a very interesting topic of local interest – Route 66, and their book has been a labor of love.

Route 66 - it’s a topic that conjures lots of memories for lots of people.

I am delighted to present Sal Santoro and Bob Walton, authors of Route 66 – the People – the Places – the Dream.

Sal Santoro is a graduate of Seton Hall University having earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications. For thirty-five years he worked in Marketing and Business Development in the United States, Canada and Europe for United Parcel Service (UPS) before retiring in 2006.  Sal is a member of the international Cadillac and LaSalle Club (CLC). He is a Past President, Vice-president, Secretary and Treasurer of the Cadillac Club of North Jersey (CCNJ) and former Editor of Caddy Chatter, the newsletter of the CCNJ. He is the co-writer of and co-photographer of the magazine article “Getting Our Kicks in a Cadillac” (Hemmings Motor News, March 2010). Sal spends much of his time as “curator” of “Cadillac Sal’s Mirage Garage” a remarkable facility he created to indulge his love of everything “Cadillac.”

Bob Walton earned both Bachelors and Masters degrees from Montclair State College. He proudly served his country as an Army Reserve officer. For more than thirty-seven years Bob was a teacher in the Bergenfield, NJ public schools before retiring in 2008. Bob is a member of the international Cadillac & LaSalle Club (CLC). He is the Founder (1991) and first president of the Cadillac Club of North Jersey. He was the editor of “Caddy Chatter,” the newsletter of the CCNJ for many of the past twenty years. Bob is the co-writer of and co-photographer of the magazine article, “Getting Our Kicks in a Cadillac” (Hemmings Motor News, March 2010). He is the author of and photographer for “Unique Auto and Truck: Mining for Vintage Gold in New Jersey” (Cars and Parts Magazine, July, 2006) and author of “Of Paramount Importance” (The Robb Report, December 1986).

I hope you can see the possibilities of a library program on this subject – it might be a lot of fun!

To arrange for a program (for which there will be no charge), please contact Bob directly at:  bob@route66cadillacguys.com

Warmest regards,

Arlene
